Our Story

A gaming den built by hand, for the people who love it most.

ShadowFrontierForge started in 2018 as a six-rig LAN corner above a record shop in the CBD. Today we run 40 water-cooled battlestations, a dedicated VR wing and a retro console lounge — all wired, tuned and repaired in-house by people who actually finish the games they sell you on.

We are three tram stops from Flinders Street and a short walk from Chinatown. Whether you main fighting games, chase ranked ladders, or just want a comfy couch for co-op night, there is a seat here with your name burned into the armrest.

“I built this place around one idea: nobody should game alone unless they want to. Every rig I spec, every tournament we run, every couch we reupholster — it is all so the room feels like home the second you walk in.”

Player Reviews

Loved by Melbourne’s players.

Watch a few of our regulars tell it their way.

Booked a station every Saturday for six months to grind ranked — went from Gold to Diamond. The 240Hz monitors and zero lag genuinely made the difference.

Ran my son’s 12th birthday in the retro den. Eight kids, four CRTs, Mario Kart chaos — the staff sorted the whole thing and the fries were a hit.

I compete on the Melbourne Tekken circuit and the Thursday brackets here are the best practice in the city. Serious players, friendly room, fair pools.

Good To Know

Questions, answered.

Walk-ins are always welcome and we hold a block of stations for them daily. That said, weekends and tournament nights fill fast, so we recommend booking online or calling us on +61 3 9654 2768 to guarantee a seat.

Membership is $25/month and drops walk-in rates by roughly 25%, unlocks free peripheral repairs and gives priority tournament seeding. If you play more than about six hours a month, it pays for itself quickly.

All ages are welcome during the day. Players under 15 need a guardian on-site, and after 8pm the main floor is 15+ to keep the competitive sessions focused. The retro den stays family-friendly until close.

Absolutely. Plenty of our regulars bring their own fight sticks, keyboards and headsets. Every station has front-facing USB and 3.5mm ports, and our bench can help you get your kit configured before you start.

Yes — we run birthdays, work socials and clan meetups. We can reserve the retro den or a bank of battlestations, and packages include catering from the Loading-Screen Café. Email [email protected] for a quote.
